jim bob finally watched the lonelygirl15 series on youtube. pretty good, i thought. pretty entertaining. so then i started lookin at the numbers. these lonelygirl15 guys, the guys that made the show, they made about 90 videos. each one of em got about 500,000 total views. and that's just on youtube. so let's call the total views lg15 got per episode 500,000+x. ok.

now, jimbob's favorite show is 24, and for the week of feb 26, 24 got 12.8 million viewers. well. but that's 12.8 million people watchin for 60 minutes, whereas lg15 only about 2 min per video. so. that means if we want to compare we got to gross up the 24 viewership by 30. so,

now, jim bob wants to know how good lg15 did compared to 24:

lg15 total viewer-minutes as % of 24's = (500,000 + x) / (12,800,000 * 30)

but what is x? well, since jim bob don't know how to figure it out, it's 0.

so, lg15 total viewer-minutes as % of 24's = .13%.

but wait. kiefer sutherland made $13 million for 24 episodes of 24 according to aol.television.com. that's about $540,000 per episode. let's just go ahead and put the cost to make 1 episode of 24 at about $1 million.

now, how much did it cost to make 1 episode of lg 15? let's see, you need a no-name actress (free), a webcam ($100), and a script (free).

that means that 24 cost 1,000,000/100 times more than lg15 per episode. shoot. that's 10,000 times more.

so, which would you rather spend money on creatin, lg15 or 24?
